Explore the Milford Area
Milford is considered the Home of the American Conservation Movement and no visit to Milford is complete without visiting Grey Towers, the home of the French Huguenot family, the Pinchots, who came here in the early 1800’s, and whose descendants are still active in Milford. Gifford Pinchot was the first Chief of the Forestry Service under President Teddy Roosevelt.
Milford is host to many festivals and activities throughout the year including the Milford Music Festival in the summer, the Milford Readers Writers Festival and the Black Bear Film Festival in the fall and the Winter Lights Festival in January.
Interesting local sites include the Historic Milford Theatre, Upper Mill Historic Grist Mill and the Pike County Historical Society, home of the Lincoln Flag.

The Delaware River Highlands in which Milford is almost at the center, has lots to see and do. Harrington House keeps a great deal of information but you may want to explore some of these web sites to get an idea of all there is to do and see. Milford is destination within a region of destinations

Along the shores of the river are a number of historic villages, hamlets and towns, many of which offer great antiquing, shopping, country markets, historic inns and Bed and Breakfasts, and other attractions.

The author’s beautiful home along the Delaware River in nearby Lackawaxen is great visit.
